Oops! #Domagick #Divination Challenge Days 15 – 30

Oops! I thought I had posted the remainder of March’s Domagick Divination challenge readings, but it seems that I didn’t. I am extremely late in doing so, as you can see. The next one is nearly ready to begin. Anyway, here they are. As with the rest, I chose the type of divination to use based on dice roll. I also changed from reading a single card to triplets on the eighteenth day due to switch things up a little.

15 – Druid Animal Oracle – Goose
16 – Lenormand Triplet
17 – Druid Animal Oracle – Horse and Cat
18 – Druid Animal Oracle Triplet
19 – Ogham Triplet
20 – Lenormand Triplet
21 – Druid Animal Oracle Triplet
22 – Rune Triplet
23 – Rune Triplet
24 – Ogham Triplet
25 – Daemonic Sigils Triplet
26 – Rune Triplet
27 – Rune Triplet
28 – Lenormand Triplet
29 – Druid Animal Oracle Triplet
30 – Daemonic Sigils Triplet

Although I have not been posting recently on Instagram due to sheer business, I continue to read daily – mostly Lenormand. I was gifted with the Vintage Shadow Lenormand Deck, and am greatly enjoying it elegant silhouette and clean lines. It shuffles beautifully too, much like a playing card deck, which is what I prefer. I highly recommend it for these things alone. I’m also getting straight forward, no nonsense readings out of the deck, which I love. The Vintage Shadow Lenormand Deck is a big hit so far, and I greatly recommend it!

#Domagick #Divination Challenge Days 1 – 14

The Domagick Divination challenge is half over, and so is April. For the last two weeks, my daily method has been determined by a roll of the dice. Adding chance to the mix has freshened up my routine a little, at the very least. It’s also helped me determine that, while I may prefer certain divination systems and styles over others, I can read just about anything with which I’m presented. Some systems, like Ogham, were a bit like riding a bike. After a few moments of awkwardness, it felt natural again. Continue reading #Domagick #Divination Challenge Days 1 – 14

Painting an Oracle – AND A GIVEAWAY

At the beginning of this year, I made a promise to myself that I would only participate in magickal challenges if they genuinely aligned with what I wanted to be doing in my practice. I’ve been lucky so far and have found some fantastic ones each month, either through Domagick.com or divination.challenges on Instagram. (Props to folks who run both.) In March and April, I may have a chance to mingle the gifts of these two resources when the Domagick challenge shifts its focus to “applied divination.”

I’ve been painting my own oracle in preparation. It took three attempts and as many styles to get the first card for Belial. Finally, I settled on creating a random wash, turning and tilting the paper to let the paint pool and dribble as it liked. Once it was dry, I meditated on the background to find his face there, then painted the other layers needed to bring that face into the foreground. I completed two more cards using this technique, one each for Lucifer and one for Flereous. Sometimes we sat together in silence, while other times I used atmospheric music or a drumming disk to accompany my work.

I don’t know how many cards there will be in total, but I was originally hoping to finish sixteen of them before the first of April. At my current rate, I can see that was an optimistic estimate on my part. Along with everything else on my plate, I might get that many done by the end of next month—fingers crossed! That means I’ll more than likely have to use another form of divination for the Domagick challenge in April, but I haven’t decided which kind yet. I’m currently focusing on Lenormand, participating in the March Madness challenge hosted by Patricia Weston on Instagram, but I may wish to switch off by the first.

Lenormand is one of my favorite forms of divination. Sadly, it isn’t as well-known as Tarot yet, so my clients don’t ask for it nearly as often. I’d love to make it just as popular! I find it to be a straight-forward, nonsense way of getting to the heart of a question quickly, without any sidestepping around the issue. To help it shine, I’ll be holding a giveaway on FaceBook later this week (March 10 – 16) of one free Lenormand reading. Make sure to follow me there and look for this graphic!

More giveaways to celebrate my first love, divination, and the upcoming spring Equinox will follow later in the month. Stay tuned to this space for more details.

February – Discounts, Desire, and Divination

February is nearly upon us, with all the possibilities it holds. It can be a busy month for magicians!

Those looking for romance may feel the pressure of Valentine’s Day fast approaching on the 14th and turn to love spells and divination to foretell their prospects. To help alleviate some of those fears, I’m offering all love and romance readings at a 25% discount for the entire month of February. Simply mention this entry when arranging your reading. You can find more information on my available services here.

Those not concerned with romance this month may choose to work on themselves instead through the  DoMagick meditation challenge. Classic forms of meditation are suggested but not 100% required, so I’ll be using artistic meditations to help jumpstart my creativity each day in February. In short, I’ll be meditating on the Daemonic Divine with some sort of art supply in hand, trying to capture a representation of their essence visually. Like trying to force a genie into a bottle, I don’t believe you can actually trap a spirit in a piece of art. If anything, I would describe artistic meditation as freeing. It often helps remove blocks I have, not only warming me up before I begin writing for the day but also working through misconceptions about the Daemon in question and breaking through to new levels of understanding. Overall, this challenge aligns nicely with my current goals in February, so I thought I would participate and share my work on social media as per usual.

Many Pagans plan to celebrate Imbolc this February 1-2. Also known as Candlemas or Brigid, this holiday honors the return of the light after the longest night of the year and marks the halfway point between winter solstice and spring equinox. Although the tradition I practice does not typically observe this cross-border day, I explored Wicca and other pagan paths for many years before choosing Demonolatry, and now my calendar feels empty without a ritual scheduled in early February. Who to venerate instead of the goddess Brigid at this time was never a tough question for me, however. Even if Unsere were not the Daemon who corresponds with February, she is known as the Daemoness of motherhood, growth, and protection. It makes sense to me to worship her during the time of year once strongly connected to childbirth and pregnancy. Originally, the word Imbolc meant “in the belly” and referred to the pregnant and nursing sheep that would be prevalent during this season in the ancient Celtic Isles.

I like to spend this day with my family, playing games and eating some sort of feast – a decadent treat shared together at the very least. My days of having and raising children are now over, so fine food is the only thing getting “in my belly” on this particular holiday. That isn’t to say that those still planning a family couldn’t work fertility magick on Imbolc. After all, not only is Unsere known for nurturing children but February is the month of romantic love – and that can help produce children too!

Personally, I tend to incorporate hearth magick into my Rite to Unsere, preparing as much of the feast as I can with my own hands and making sure to leave her portion in offering. I generally do this right at the dinner table, setting aside the best part of my own plate and saying a prayer either aloud or silently, depending on the acceptance level of those present. In this way, Unsere is included at the table as part of the family, with her blessing and protection requested in that same moment. Afterward, I dispose of the offering with the same reverence I do all others.

Beyond that, I spend some time on divination that night, as I do on all holy days. On the Rite to Unsere, I lean towards using an “in the belly” card spread I developed especially for Imbolc celebrations before I became a Daemonolater. It’s meant to help you check on any personal work you may have been doing thus far in the year and see what you need to do next. The cards are laid out like this:

  1. What’s in The Belly – What You Are Digesting
  2. Potential
  3. Obstacles
  4. What Brings You Joy
  5. What Brings You Dread
  6. What Needs Nurturing
  7. What You Feed Instead
In the Belly card spread.

Hopefully, this reading will make your February a little smoother.

Most of my creative and magickal efforts this week were focused on my next Dalliances with Demons novella. The time I’ve been putting into writing my daily morning pages and generating ideas through the Inner Demons Challenge has really paid off. I have filled a notebook in the last month. Most of it is trash – as it supposed to be – but the bones of the story are starting to line up into a recognizable skeleton. There are definite gaps and the flesh is missing, but I can nearly see the shape of it. I have hope, after spinning in circles for what felt like months. I’m even starting to smile at the synchronicities, at the start of the Daemonic Divine having its way with the piece – precisely as it should. It has a long way to go, but I’m no longer afraid that it will never happen. I’m relaxing into it and realizing it will come as it wishes.

Here are the cards that have helped me generate character ideas this week:

Her – How can she see her shadows more clearly?
Him – How can he see his shadow more clearly?
Her and Him – How are they projecting their shadows on other people?
Her – How can she use her inner demons to heal herself?
Him – How can he use his inner demons to heal himself?

I’m looking forward to wrapping up this challenge and trying to organize my notes / the scenes into something cohesive.

Have a good one. See you next week!

Chakra Assessment #Domagick Day 28

It’s the last day of the current Domagick challenge. In the end, I would have to say that my chakras are  in better condition now than they were a month ago. I discovered a major blockage in my heart chakra earlier in February, and I managed to clear that away.

However, I have noticed a tendency for my chakras to slow down over the course of each week. This is natural, I suppose. We all get tired and need to refresh and balance ourselves. I’ve found that brief, daily attunements keep things  in alignment until my weekly rebalancing. Without them I am sluggish and have a hard time collecting my thoughts at work. If nothing else, this challenge has reinforced how important frequent psychic hygiene is—and given me a couple of technique to use to maintain mine.

For the last day of the challenge, I decided to move through the salutations of Ptah meditative/breathing positions. Afterward, I felt clear-headed and ready to tackle the rest of the afternoon. My Lenormand pair for the day was SHIP + FISH, which I read as “discovering wealth” or “discovering value.” And, yes, I certainly have discovered physical valuein my chakra work this month. It has helped body’s energy as well as my mood, both of which make dreary winter afternoons easier to take.

Divination to #Domagick Day 20

I laughed out loud when I pulled my Lenormand pair for today. I drew HOUSE + FOX, which I read as suspicion of caution over traditions. If I’d been drinking coffee, it would have shot out of my nose. Let’s just say that tradition has been the buzz word in my part of the Pagan community this week. (Of course, it means nothing else to anyone else.)

When I asked my deck how I could focus on my own self-care and chakra-work, I came up with ANCHOR + BOUQUET. The first thing that came to mind was ‘rewarding routine,’ but these cards can also imply stability in your social circle, or routine time with friends and family. My normal family schedule will be out of whack tonight, so I am going to yesterday’s meditation and breathing positions again.

I prefer doing divination at the beginning of my Domagick work. That way I can adapt my daily practice for whatever the cards say, using them as a prompt. It’s not that I think my fate is set in stone, but I hate doing the exact same thing every day. I need a little variation.

Domagick Day 19

I took time off from the Domagick challenge over the weekend and concentrated on family and work, in that order. I won’t complete the criteria in the traditional sense, but I will have my sanity, so that’s okay. Today I got straight back into it with a Lenormand reading. It said the week ahead will be especially trying, so I should focus on self-care. Instinctively I went into a set of meditation / breathing positions I call the Salutations to Ptah. I picked them up as part of my seminary work last year, and use them to clear and balance myself before spell-work. I wanted something physical I could lean into today and just do, that I could focus on without any accompanying visualization. I needed practice rooted in my bones. I felt much better after: clear-headed and more optimistic.

If it works, do it again! #domagick 16

I’ll keep this short. It’s Friday and, truth be told, I want to get to my weekend! Since yesterday’s practice worked so well, I decided I best duplicate it this afternoon. If it works, do it again. I read my cards first and pulled Lenormand’s THE BOUQUET, indicating I was on the right path; I’d nourish my heart chakra through the gift of an easier practice today. After a short body scan, I went straight to chanting the five warrior syllables. I didn’t concentrate on moving energy through my body at first, just air. After about ten minutes, I started working Reiki energy along my core and down through my legs along with the syllables as well. My head felt much more clear afterward, and my body felt better from having been at work all morning. Success! It does my heart and its chakra good!
