Domagick Sept 17 2017
Today marks the third week of the Domagick “beginner’s” challenge. My prayers and offering to the Nine Daemonic Divinities were uneventful, just as they were for most of the past 17 days. I realize that daily offerings aren’t for me. Still, I’d hoped they would deepen a connection weakened by the recent chaos at home. Tomorrow I’m home alone again, so I’ll be able to vocalize more confidently. I never have a problem chanting or even singing in front of a group, but I do feel self-conscious from time to time when other people are listening who aren’t participating in my rituals, especially if they are just sitting in the room next door watching TV. It can kill the “mood,” so to speak.
Today’s reading brings up another Lenormand card that can refer to a person, the Gentleman. Here I’ve taken keywords from The Lenormand Handbook by Caitlin Matthews:
The Snake – deception, manipulation, lies, difficulty, rivalry, treachery, betrayal, envy, upset, hypocrisy, pride, complexity
The Tree – patience, DNA, well-being, blueprint, time, ancestral memory, network, life, system, ancestors
The Gentleman – male, potency, the querent if male, everyman
I read this as “Difficulty in the gentleman’s well-being/ network.” Hmmm. The Lady card has tended to refer to me, so I hope my partner has a good time at his art class today!
On the other hand, the combination of the Tree and the Gentleman cards jumped out at me. Together ancestors plus everyman equaled legacy in my mind. When I look at the cards again from this perspective, they read “Betrayal to a legacy.” Is that a mystic and spooky warning? I don’t think so. It might have to do with an educational program I’m helping revise. Maybe the Nine are reminding me to keep the end-user in mind. Hopefully egos won’t bump heads today.
Admittedly, this is a bit of an intuitive leap. As I said before, it’s only by looking over previous readings that I can improve my accuracy. I’m still waiting for some feedback on a colleague, so I don’t know yet how yesterday’s reading will fall. I may have more hard work to do if we don’t see eye-to-eye. It is still up in the air.
